Rising Above
The group consists of 15–20 women who take part in a six-month process designed to create a supportive network and a strong sense of community and belonging. The program includes eight sessions held once every three weeks, on a fixed weekday between 4:00 and 8:00 PM. The meetings take place in a central, accessible location with a comfortable space and childcare services, enabling full participation for mothers.
The program is guided by a professional team of two facilitators—an experienced group facilitator and a specialist in trauma therapy. It combines professional guidance with experiential workshops such as yoga, therapeutic writing, and mindfulness, and addresses key themes including creating a safe space for sharing and normalizing stress responses; providing tools and psychoeducation about post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and its impact on the family system; strengthening personal identity and developing healthy boundaries without guilt; and offering information on rights awareness alongside support for strengthening parenting capacity in the context of ongoing challenges.
Participants in the program will embark on a 10-day journey in Switzerland. The journey will focus on strengthening experiences and processing emotions through nature-based therapeutic approaches and the connection between body and mind. It will offer wives of wounded soldiers both a unique and meaningful experience, as well as an opportunity to step away from the demands of daily life and the exhausting reality of being a partner of a wounded soldier.
